Lagvolt

Terms of service

Last updated 16 October 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and us for using Lagvolt. Please read them before you sign up. In short:

  • Lagvolt is a VPN for games. It doesn't promise lower ping. Try it free for 7 days first.
  • Subscriptions renew until you cancel. Cancel any time and keep Pro until the paid period ends.
  • Don't use Lagvolt to break the law or to attack or abuse anyone, and don't share your account.
  • Some games don't allow VPNs or region changes. Following their rules is up to you.
  • Nothing here takes away your legal rights as a consumer.

Our refund policy is part of these terms. How we handle your data is in our privacy policy.

1. Who we are

Lagvolt is provided by [Company legal name], a company registered in England and Wales with company number [Company number]. Our registered office is [Registered office address]. In these terms, “we” and “us” means that company.

For questions, problems or complaints, email [email protected]. For privacy questions, email [email protected]. If we need to contact you, we'll use the email address on your account.

2. What Lagvolt does

Lagvolt is a Windows app and a network of relays (our servers). When you connect, the app connects your PC to a relay over WireGuard and sends your game traffic through it to the game server, so the game server sees the relay's IP address instead of yours.

By default, only traffic to the networks of the big game hosts (Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud and Valve) for the game server region you pick goes through Lagvolt. Most other traffic stays on your normal connection. You can switch to all traffic in the app under Settings > Network > Traffic mode.

For a game console, you can share the Lagvolt connection from your PC over a network cable or the PC's Wi-Fi hotspot, or save a WireGuard configuration file for your router. Smart DNS is a separate setup: you authorize your home IP address in the app on your PC, then change the DNS settings on the console. The PC can be off after that.

What Lagvolt doesn't promise

  • Lower ping every time. Ping depends on distance and on the routes between you, our relay and the game server. If your direct route is already good, Lagvolt may make little difference, and on some routes it can be a little slower. The free trial is there so you can check on your own connection.
  • Game traffic through Smart DNS. Smart DNS can move a console's matchmaking and game-service traffic for supported games to the region you choose. Your game traffic itself doesn't go through it, so it doesn't change your ping or the address game servers see.
  • Every game. A game hosted outside the networks the default mode covers may need all-traffic mode, and some games may not work through a relay at all.
  • Anonymity or streaming. Lagvolt is built for games. It isn't designed to hide who you are or to unlock streaming services.

3. Your account

  • You sign in with a code sent to your email, or with Discord or Google. Your first sign-in creates your account.
  • You must be at least 13 to use Lagvolt, and 18 or older (or have a parent or guardian's permission) to buy a subscription.
  • An account is for one person. Don't share it or let anyone else use it.
  • Up to 10 devices (PCs and routers) can be registered on one account.
  • Anyone who can get into your email, Discord or Google account can sign in to Lagvolt as you, so keep them secure. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
  • One free trial per person. Don't create extra accounts to get more trials.

4. Free trial

New accounts get 7 days of Lagvolt Pro free, with no card needed. When the trial ends, the VPN and Smart DNS stop until you choose a plan. The trial never turns into a paid plan by itself.

5. Subscriptions and payment

Plans and prices
PlanPriceBilled
Lagvolt Pro, monthly$6.99Monthly
Lagvolt Pro, yearly$49.99Yearly
  • Prices are in US dollars (USD) and include any VAT or sales tax we have to charge. The price you see is the price you pay.
  • Payments are handled by Stripe, our payment processor. You enter your card details on Stripe's checkout page. We don't see or store them.
  • A subscription starts when your first payment goes through, even if you're still in your trial. It renews automatically at the end of each period, charging the same payment method, until you cancel.
  • To switch between monthly and yearly, change your card or see your invoices, go to Settings > Account > Plan > Manage in the app. That opens your billing page at Stripe.
  • If a renewal payment fails, Stripe may try again. Pro keeps working for up to 7 days after the failed payment. If it still hasn't gone through by then, Pro stops, and comes back if the payment succeeds later.

Canceling

Cancel any time in the app (Settings > Account > Plan > Manage) or by emailing [email protected]. You keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for, and you won't be charged again. Uninstalling the app doesn't cancel your subscription.

Price changes

We may change our prices. We'll email you at least 30 days before a new price applies to you, and it only applies from your next renewal. If you don't want to pay it, cancel before then.

Dedicated IP and port forwarding

We don't sell the dedicated IP add-on yet. These terms apply once we do.

  • The add-on gives you your own public IP address on a relay you choose, and lets you forward up to 20 port ranges to games on your PC. Forwarding works while you're connected in All traffic mode to the relay that holds your address. It doesn't reach a console yet. A few ports are reserved and can't be forwarded.
  • It only works while you have Pro. If Pro ends, your dedicated IP stops working at the same time and the add-on won't renew.
  • When the add-on ends, the address goes back to us and your port forwarding rules are deleted.
  • We may have to change your address, for example if we retire a relay or our hosting provider takes the address back. We'll tell you when that happens.
  • You're responsible for anything you make reachable through your forwarded ports.

Smart DNS

Smart DNS only answers requests from your home's public IP address, which you authorize in the app (one per account). We store that address while it's authorized. If your home IP changes, authorize the new one. Smart DNS stops working when your plan ends.

6. Your right to cancel and refunds

UK law gives you 14 days to cancel a subscription you buy online. How that works, and when we give refunds, is set out in our refund policy, which is part of these terms.

7. Acceptable use

Your traffic goes through our relays, so what you do affects us and other users. Don't use Lagvolt to:

  • break the law, or help anyone else break it
  • attack, hack or overload any network, server or device, including denial-of-service attacks
  • scan networks or ports, send spam, or spread malware
  • host anything illegal or abusive through a dedicated IP or forwarded ports
  • interfere with our relays, our systems or other users, or reach parts of them you aren't meant to
  • resell, rent out or share access to Lagvolt
  • use a network or device you don't have permission to use

We don't record which sites or servers you connect to. We do keep a record of each session (when it started and ended, the relay, and how much data it used) so we can deal with abuse. The privacy policy has the details.

Games and platforms have their own rules

Some games, consoles and online platforms don't allow VPNs, or playing in a server region other than your own, and some block relay addresses. Check the rules of the games you play. If a game or platform warns, restricts or bans your account for using Lagvolt, that's between you and them, and we can't reverse it.

8. Availability and changes to Lagvolt

We work to keep Lagvolt running, but we can't promise it will always be available, never be interrupted, or work on every network. We may take relays offline for maintenance, add, move or remove relays and game server regions, and change features.

If a change makes Lagvolt significantly worse for you, we'll tell you, and you can cancel and get a refund for the unused part of any period you've paid for.

If we stop providing Lagvolt altogether, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice and refund anything you've paid for time after it ends.

9. The Lagvolt app

While you have an account, you may install and use the Lagvolt app on Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) PCs you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use. This right is yours alone: you can't pass it on. The app stays ours. Don't copy, sell, modify or reverse engineer it, except where the law allows you to.

The app includes open-source software. Those parts are covered by their own licenses, listed in the app under Settings > About.

What the app installs and changes

  • Installing and updating the app need administrator rights. Installing adds the app and the Lagvolt Tunnel Service, a Windows service that starts with Windows and runs the WireGuard tunnel.
  • While you're connected, the app adds the Lagvolt network adapter and routes for the tunnel.
  • Sharing with a console turns on Windows Internet Connection Sharing or Mobile Hotspot, and sends all traffic through the tunnel until you stop sharing.
  • Windows allows one shared connection at a time, so starting cable sharing turns off any other Internet Connection Sharing on the PC, and it stays off. The adapter your console uses keeps the address 192.168.137.1 after you stop sharing.
  • Your sign-in and device keys are stored in Windows Credential Manager. Your device's private key never leaves your PC.
  • Uninstalling removes the app and the service.

Only download the app from lagvolt.com. We may release updates that fix problems or change features, and some may be needed to keep using Lagvolt.

If the app damages your device

If software we supply damages a device or digital content that belongs to you, and that's because we didn't use reasonable care and skill, we'll either repair the damage or pay you compensation. We aren't responsible for damage you could have avoided by following our instructions or installing a free update we offered.

10. Suspending and ending your account

If you want to leave

You can stop using Lagvolt at any time. To stop paying, cancel your subscription (section 5). To close your account and have your data deleted, email [email protected] from the address on your account. Closing your account cancels your subscription, so you won't be charged again.

If we suspend or close your account

We may suspend or close your account, straight away if needed, if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms (especially section 7), if the law requires it, or to protect our relays or other users. Where it's reasonable, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to put things right.

If we close your account because you broke these terms, we won't refund the rest of a paid period, unless the law says we must. If we close it for any other reason, we'll refund the unused part.

When an account ends

The VPN, Smart DNS and any dedicated IP stop working, your PCs and routers can no longer connect to our relays, and your dedicated IP and port forwarding rules are released. We keep or delete your data as the privacy policy says.

11. Our responsibility to you

What we never limit. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer. For example, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 says the service must be provided with reasonable care and skill and as we describe it, and the app must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. Citizens Advice can tell you more about your rights.

Apart from that:

  • We're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or not using reasonable care and skill. Loss is foreseeable if it was obvious it would happen, or if both of us knew it might when you accepted these terms.
  • We aren't responsible for loss that isn't foreseeable, or for problems caused by things outside our control, such as your internet provider, game servers, or events we couldn't reasonably have avoided.
  • We aren't responsible for what a game, console maker or platform does to your account because you used Lagvolt (section 7).
  • Lagvolt is for domestic and private use. We aren't responsible for any loss of profit, business or business opportunity.
  • Our total responsibility to you is limited to the greater of $100 and the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the thing that caused your claim. This limit doesn't apply to the things we never limit (above).

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when the law or Lagvolt changes. For an important change, we'll email you at least 30 days before it applies. If you don't agree, you can cancel before then, and if the change is to your disadvantage, we'll refund the unused part of any period you've paid for. The date at the top of this page shows the current version.

13. Other things you should know

  • Other companies' terms. Signing in with Discord or Google, and paying through Stripe, are also covered by those companies' own terms.
  • Transfers. We may transfer this agreement to another organization. We'll tell you, and it won't reduce your rights. You can't transfer your account to anyone else.
  • Only you and us. Nobody else has any rights under these terms.
  • Each part stands alone. If a court decides part of these terms is invalid, the rest still applies.
  • Delays. If we don't enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.

14. Law and courts

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland, you can also bring them in the Scottish courts, and if you live in Northern Ireland, in the courts of Northern Ireland.

If you live outside the UK, you keep any protection the consumer law of your country gives you that an agreement can't take away.

If something goes wrong, please email [email protected] first. Most problems are quicker to sort out that way.
